WE BELIEVE IN BEING THE CHANGE.

I choose to support people who are improving lives. Whether you're a nonprofit, social enterprise, or another type of social impact company, you’re my people. And so are the folks below. We are in the businesses of doing things differently. Won’t you join us?

VECTOR GLOBAL LOGISTICS

Vector Global Logistics is changing the world through supply chain. They work with you to find efficient, cost-effective solutions for moving the products you care about from point A to point B. And they believe that your success isn’t only in the profit that you make, but the impact you help create.

Project: I served as part-time Chief Impact Officer for four and a half years, while also managing all the impact and giving aspects of the company. And I co-host the Logistics With Purpose® podcast. Additionally, I led all efforts for a B Corp Certification, which we were awarded in March 2024.

HORIZON SERVICES, INC.

Horizon Services, Inc. (HSI) provides alcohol, drug, and mental health related services to adults and adolescents. All programs are evidence-based and provide a safe environment for understanding and addressing substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health-related issues that keep people from their full potential. HSI’s prevention programs help youth develop healthy relationships and live substance-free lives. In addition, HSI works in the community helping families, businesses, and public agencies recognize and develop responses to SUD which create safer and healthier neighborhoods.

Project: I created their last two impact reports, and created a third for the same ED before he moved to this organization.

Habitat for Humanity Chicago

They’re committed to seeing Chicago thrive. By partnering with committed residents and trusted organizations, they help families and communities achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through housing, beautification, and development projects.

Project: I re-wrote the majority of their website for a relaunch, which included approximately 30 pages of content. I also provided feedback and suggestions on some of the page names and layouts.

FOR MOMENTUM

As the largest agency in the country solely dedicated to fostering social impact partnerships, For Momentum brings nonprofits and businesses together to collaborate, and raise funds and awareness for the issues they care about. Driven by both results and relationships, their goal is to see their clients, community and culture thrive.

Project: I rewrote their website homepage and services pages.

Be the Bridge

This amazing nonprofit utilizes resources and conversations to further racial reconciliation. They believe that the Church must become a bigger answer to this issue, and are equipping people to host racially diverse small groups that create open lines of communication.

Project: I wrote their #GivingTuesday email and social media campaign, assisted in the launch of their Bridge to Racial Unity Discussion Guide 2.0, and have consulted on their branding and communications strategy. I also managed their social media during their official launch event.

Dr. Bombay’s / The Learning Tea

One of my favorite spots in Atlanta, this darling little tea shop in the Candler Park neighborhood funds “life scholarships” for girls in India. With these funds, girls can go to college, have a safe place to live, and have all their basic needs provided for. (And their chai is my absolute favorite!)

Project: I have consulted on their marketing and communications strategy, and also traveled to India to meet the girls in the program.

FORUM FOR THEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION

The Forum for Theological Exploration is a leadership incubator that inspires young people to make a difference through Christian communities. YTN is a national network of colleges, universities, and theological schools funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. to identify, ignite and cultivate the gifts of a new generation of Christian leaders who will make an impact in the world. As a partner, FTE supports, resources and promotes this national network of theology programs for high school students.

Project: I served as the fractional marketing director for YTN for two years. While in this role, I managed everything from marketing to public relations to social media to events to brand management and copy.

LEADING WITH DISC

Leading with DiSC exists to help people understand and communicate effectively with each other at work so that both employees and companies can thrive. They want to build a future where even those with major differences respect each other and can collaborate in the workplace.

Project: They had a very outdated website and wanted to stand out from their competitors and show why they were different. I created their brand message and voice, and then used that to write their website copy.

Orange is a division of The reThink Group, a nonprofit organization providing resources and training to help churches maximize their influence on the spiritual growth of the next generation. They have amazing curriculum from birth through adult years and a fantastic series of events for church leaders, volunteers, students and kids.

Project: I served as the Event Marketing Director here for almost six years, so I pop in for odds and ends when they need outside help. Projects often include assisting with book launch marketing and event marketing.

“I hired Kristi before the launch of my nonprofit. She helped me create a brand narrative and voice for our organization, so that all of our copy is cohesive and sounds authentic to who we are across all channels, which also allows us to create new content easily. With this brand narrative in place as a guideline, we were able to secure $12,000 in grants before our launch!

Kristi also wrote a two-month, day-by-day marketing plan that broke down everything that needed to be done into easy tasks. This was a lifesaver, and I no longer felt overwhelmed! Kristi went above and beyond for us, and I have received so much priceless insight and resources from her. I will hire her again and again!”

- Jaycina Almond, The Tender Foundation

“‘Exceed expectations’ is an overused expression with few who can document occasions when they actually did exceed expectations. Kristi Porter is one who can point to the work she did with the Atlanta Dream Center and accurately state that she exceeded all of our expectations. You will be well pleased with the results achieved by bringing Kristi onto your team.”

- Mark Northcutt, Atlanta Dream Center

"Kristi is able to take your vision of communication and bring it to life. Her help on marking our guide saved me incredible time. She took initiative and helped bring clarity to our vision. As a nonprofit leader, I'm in the trenches and it's hard to be everything I need to be. Signify helped relieve this tension with expert help in marketing and communications."

“Kristi has a wonderful way with words and people. She is perceptive, intuitive, punctual, professional, and on top of all that, she’s really smart. She was able to dive into our subject matter quickly, offered an incredible amount of advice, and delivered even more than we expected. We will certainly work with her in the future.”

- Anne Kerr, TrueNorth Freedom Project

"Kristi had much expertise to share with me to help us have a greater impact. I believe her knowledge and experience will benefit us and many others both in for-profits and in nonprofits alike. Thank you, Kristi! Looking forward to working together more to make a difference in the world!"

"Kristi Porter is an endless source of knowledge. She has helped Dr. Bombay’s and The Learning Tea with strategy and branding. She has also helped us clean up our website and given us tons of great ideas on how to find donors and partners for our project. This is a woman who is constantly in the know about everything from strategy and development to the business trends on social media. She will always go the extra mile. Aside from her ingenious ideas, she is a great human being and a pleasure to work with. And if you weren’t already hiring her, you would want to be her friend."

"Most small organizations think they need specialists to focus on social media, email marketing, Facebook advertising, website design, etc., but this approach is expensive and typically doesn't produce the desired results. Why? Marketing requires a system where the parts work together to accomplish the real goal of more customers or donors. With Kristi and Signify, my team and I got access to a smart, experienced generalist capable of wearing many hats and solving multiple problems. Kristi is the marketing equivalent of a swiss army knife. I've hired her multiple times, and I know I'll do so again."

"I've worked with Kristi Porter, the founder of Signify, for over six years. Kristi is one of the best writers and marketers I've known. She has an amazing breadth of perspective and experience with non-profits, cause-focused organizations and corporate giants that weave into her practical skills of storytelling and marketing. She's adept at clearly identifying shifts and tweaks to websites, email campaigns, and marketing content that results in increased engagement and positive response. Following her methodologies has resulted in sell-out events, audience growth, and follower engagement. She's a trustworthy, capable and passionate marketing professional."

"I worked with Kristi on both launching and ongoing marketing strategies for my product, The Hope Deck. Her ability to think on a strategic, business-wide level, as well as day-to-day tactical actions I need to take in my business has been invaluable. I credit a large part of my successful Kickstarter launch and funding to Kristi and her coaching. Thank you Kristi!"

"What I love about Kristi is her ability to take something that feels really complicated and overwhelming and make it simple and straightforward. I have had the chance to work with her a few times, and each time I am impressed by her ability to really listen and come up with thoughtful and practical advice and solutions. She is professional, down to earth, organized, and stays in the know. She is a delight and worth every penny!"

“I've hired Kristi/Signify for some contract copywriting assignments where I needed to scale writing to meet tight client timelines. And she has always delivered, both in terms of being on-time and delivering top-notch copy, even when writing 2,000-4,000 words an article. She is in the top 10% of copywriters I've used, and believe me, I've hired quite a few over the years. If you hire her, rest assured that she will deliver on her promises. It will always be of the highest caliber writing that resonates emotionally with your audience, is highly engaging, and rings true with your brand's voice/tone/personality.”
